AgileField Platform Overview

Before you get started using AgileField, there are some major concepts you should understand.  



Platform Access

Control Tower

The Control Tower is used by Executives, Managers, Dispatchers, and Inventory Managers in the back office for:

  • Scheduling Jobs
  • System setup
  • Managing data (customer records, etc)
  • Search functionality
  • Reporting



Mobile Application

The Mobile Application is used by Inventory Managers and Field Technicians on tablets and smartphones to perform actions like:

  • Working Jobs
  • Logging hours
  • Managing inventory
  • Conducting searches




Major AgileField Concepts


Users

Users are any employees or people who work with your company that will need access to the AgileField platform through the Control Tower, the Mobile Application, or both.  Users can include:

  • Executives
  • Managers and Supervisors
  • Customer Service Representatives
  • Dispatchers
  • Warehouse Managers
  • Field Technicians

Customers

Customers are any people or companies where your company provides a product or service.  Customers can include companies, accounts, clients, people, etc.  In AgileField, a Customer is selected for each Job your company performs.  Some of the main Customer attributes include:

  • Customer hierarchies
  • Store Customer information
  • Track Job history
  • Manage Customer Equipment
  • Custom Fields
  • Notifications
  • Billing Customers
  • Job Locations

Equipment

Equipment is any equipment, machine, or asset that your company installs, repairs, or services at a Customer location.  A few notes about Equipment:

  • Equipment is assigned to a Customer location
  • Track Job history for each piece of Equipment
  • Assign one or multiple piece(s) of Equipment to a Job

Inventory

Inventory is any of the parts, materials, or consumable items your company uses to complete Jobs for Customers.  A few notes about Inventory:

  • Can be managed from the Control Tower or Mobile App
  • Serialized with a barcode or non-serialized (consumables)
  • Located in Warehouses or Vehicles
  • Serialized Inventory can be tracked at a Customer location
  • When Inventory is added to a Job it is decremented from its location

Jobs

Jobs are the main part of the AgileField platform.  Each Job needs a Customer and a Work Package.  A Work Package is a template for each type of work your company performs.  The Work Package selected for the Job controls the following:

  • Message Templates and/or Notifications that are sent to Customers
  • Which Custom Fields appear
  • Which Job Skill is required to perform the Job
  • All of the billable items on the Job by default (Activities)
